Season two of their first campaign (Vox Machina) is currently airing on Amazon and has already been greenlit for a third season. Now they are announcing that their second campaign (The Mighty Nein) will also be getting its own animated series.

fuck yeah. That's my favourite.

campaign 2 is my favorite they've done so far, but idk when they are going to start this because nothing particularly gripping plotwise happens for the first like, 50 episodes of campaign 2. But thats also where like all the fun initial character development is. The main plot hook happens very early, and then they completely ignore it for a very very very long time

i agree which is why i said its my favorite campaign

it does not, however, make for a very good short tv series

Holy shit, I figured it would be years before we even got a hint of it if we were getting one at all. It must be doing fucking numbers for Amazon.

I figured we would finish out VM. The CR audience alone was probably enough to justify that. But for them to greenlight a second one when VM is at least two seasons away from being done indicates they must be getting more than that.

They should make TwitchPlaysPokemon into an anime too.

This is something to wonder about though. C1 was much more straightforward to adapt because VM followed the plot hooks. The Mighty Nein were almost entirely defined by how little they did that and C2 is much more meandering and freeform as a result.

The only things I think they could turn into a movie are Dalen's Closet, an epilogue oneshot for C1, or EXU: Calamity, a prequel oneshot which shows the beginning of the apocalyptic war between the gods.

C1 also had much larger arcs that were easier to base entire seasons on. C2, despite being longer, only had one really long arc, with a bunch of smaller adventures throughout. I wouldn't be too surprised to see the Mighty Nein series try to fit multiple arcs into the first season, with the main bulk of it being Fjord's story, ending with the Bright Queen

During last night's watch-along, Matt did subtly mention that they had more in store for the Calamity, so I wouldn't be too surprised to see that.

I am afraid of them following this path because i trulely genuinely dont care about Avantika. I was so tuned out during that arc that I almost dropped the show. But you're also right, that was what I was thinking it was probably going to be too

I'd be fucking shocked if they make it that far. At a stretch, I'd say the season ends with the Iron Shepherds and I'd be mildly surprised with that.

The biggest issue in C2 was the pacing. A show can trim it down. You might like the Avantika arc in the show.
