Had a Wagyu NY strip for the 1st time last year. It was expensive but the tastiest steak I've ever had.

Yeah, this might be the most concise way to put it.

I had the highest-grade wagyu (A5), and while it's fantastic, I didn't get the same satisfaction I've had from eating a dry-aged steak at Keens.

maybe not by taste alone, but wagyu straight up melts in your mouth. youd be able to tell by texture

Oh yeah the topic. It's good shit, but I would much rather get a prime ribeye over an A5 wagyu.

As great as Wagyu tastes, if you replace cost with time you can get a cheaper cut of meat to taste as good. Low and slow in a smoker or charcoal grill for 10+ hours. Cheaper cuts of meat are also a lot more forgiving.

Generally, I go for what's best priced.
I am actually cool with fat on the steak.
