For myself = Haste and Regen if Haste makes Regen faster

Lowered stats of any kind. Lowering the damage of a boss/problematic enemy is like increasing the defense of your whole party, lowering their defense in any kind of way helps with damage, and then you've got stuff like Delay in Cold Steel 1 & 2 which felt overpowered.

Haste because im a basic bitch.

The "Loss Arm" from Megami Tensei 2. You literally get your arm chopped off in the middle of a dungeon and you gotta backtrack out. All the while, you can't attack, nor summon and you lose HP every step (you gotta rely on your partner and whatever demons you already have out). You get a cybernetic replacement arm by going back to town and finding a robotics doctor.

any Damage Over Time effect.

There are some creative ones I've seen where I am like that's cool. I don't remember what it was exactly called in this one game Probably over thinking, but I mostly wanted to comment on the Megami Tensei II status effect mentioned that's extraordinary in its uniqueness. Watched a full playthrough of that game.

Dungeon Encounters has enemies that can swallow your party members, and you have to find and defeat another of them in order to retrieve them.

Ok you know what I will make peace here. But it was like an affliction you can put on an enemy and everytime you did damage it really harmed them. Even if they were immune to physical or magical damage it hurt and it lasted for like 8 strikes. It was in Vampires Dawn 3 a game people here played less than Megami Tensei iI.

Same. Always seems like 99% of the time status effects only screw over the players & never work on any of the enemies that you'd want them to.

It is quite incredible the blind in ffiii did nothing, I feel like a malady does literal zero when it didn't matter much anyway. I thought the glasses were stylish.

Zombie is usually pretty cool.

Good old fashioned poison when it actually is useful.

Allergic. Extremely rare statuses from games that most people will not experience despite having played the game are always interesting. Especially when they do crazy things.

Cryo freeze from ME2/3/Andromeda, especially once they added tech combos so you could cause huge freeze explosions on already frozen enemies that would damage and freeze any other enemies nearby. So cool.
