I was pretty obviously making a comparison to the quality (or lack thereof) to the scripts content, not the origin.

I mean, say what you want, but Nintendo is the ultimate author of the game. You can argue IS is if you want, but the point is, both companies' artistic intent is to make money in the regions they sell it in.

In America, you can't market a game like FE to the audience Nintendo wants to buy it if you have some dialogue that has suggestive relationships with minors (even if the Main character is 17 from what I'm hearing, America would not want a 17-year-old with an 11-year-old). Nintendo, as the author of the product, will change that, in order to be able to sell it.

If Nintendo did not want to do that, Treehouse would have a lot more strict rules in terms of how they translate the dialogue.

I'm pretty sure TC purposely mistranslated that last panel. DeepL and Google translate are both are coming up with a different translation.

They translate it as the girl saying, "With you, I think I can become the best peddler in the world. Someday, when I meet my family... Let me introduce you to someone important to me."

It has multiple meanings, taisetsu na hito. Significant other is one interpretation and the other is important or precious to me. Or in more general terms "means a lot to me." That can have different implications. They're walking a fine line with this type of relationship. I don't personally like it. In general both acknowledge they want a romantic relationship (the bad part considering a romantic relationship at her age) but want to wait. It's icky. Feels grooming level shit.

Looking forward to this topic reaching 500 and going away forever.

My problem is with the "purity" folks who rail against the business that is localization.
