It's wild to me that we're already in 2023, and the minimum wage is still stuck at $7.25/hour, where it has been since 2009. Nobody can survive on that; it's essentially criminal to punish workers like that. As far as I'm concerned, anybody who works a full day (minimum of 8 hours) is entitled to take home at least $100 for that day (which, if you do the math, still comes out to only $12.50/hour).

Nobody works 365 days a year, but if you did do that, you'd be slaving away at poverty level and earning $36,500/year, which is absolutely pitiful for nonstop work with no breaks. But my proposal is actually BETTER than the sweatshop conditions that our country has bred so far. My suggested improvement may be too little too late, but is it at least better than nothing?

No, I'm all for raising the federal minimum wage, but I would hate for it to be enacted that way. Make it a minimum per hour. Per day means that they can make it lower than 12.50/hour if they make their staff work lots of hours. You just know some sleazy businesses would try to abuse that.

As a mandatory minimum? It's a start for sure, but only if the $100 is after any applicable taxes.

As for me I make more than that so it wouldnt affect me.

Yeah and I want to only do like one thing per day. Like pick up a thing and deliver it to another place. Thats it. One.

Whatever helps the lower class have more purchasing power and access to resources/healthcare/housing
