Honestly though I tend to just talk to everyone the same in most cases. Doesn't matter if they are attractive or not. I don't flirt and stuff so that's probably one reason I'm single. The others? You literally just have to be confident engaging and able to carry a conversation with someone.

Just think of a friend that you have a great time with and try to get into that mood, as if you're about to talk to them, that's actually what I do. (But also make it clear that you're flirting.)

The fact that you are that scared to be rejected is why you're more likely to be rejected in the first place. Woman are as insecure as anyone. They're looking for confident guys who attract other woman to make themselves more attractive by proximity (the virtuous cycle of knowing you can attract women being attractive and being with an attractive guy making the girl more attractive). If you ask very confidently, get rejected by remain very confident and take the rejection in stride you retroactively become way more attractive.
