In 2017 I've played Xenoblade Chronicles and it was quite a journey, with 75h of playtime in total. Are there any other RPGs that feel like a long, epic journey I could spend the whole year playing? I thought about Persona 3 Portable since I've beat P4G back in 2018.

Are you looking for something a little more modern, or retro? Released in the last year? Xenoblade Chronicles 3 would fit the bill as the longest RPG I played in the last year. Took about two and a half months of dedicated play time to complete it. If you just want a long ass RPG, irrespective of release date or if you beat it already, play Xenogears.

I'd say retro.
That's a good suggestion, Xenogears is one of those games I think about playing but never do. This could finally be the year

Trails of Cold Steel.

It's 4 games but they're all connected. Combined it'll take you at the very least 400 hours.

It's decent but a lot of people consider it to have some of the lowest lows and highest highs of the series.

It's also the third arc in the Kiseki or "Trails" series which are all connected and take place on the same supercontinent. The first two Cold Steel games don't spoil much but the second two heavily spoil past games

The games in order are:

Trails in the Sky
Trails in the Sky SC
Trails in the Sky 3rd
------------------------------------------------------------
Trails from Zero
Trails to Azure (coming to the west in March)
------------------------------------------------------------
Trails of Cold Steel
Trails of Cold Steel 2
Trails of Cold Steel 3
Trails of Cold Steel 4
Trails into Reverie (coming to the west in July)
------------------------------------------------------------
Kuro no Kiseki (not out in the west yet)
Kuro no Kiseki 2 (not out in the west yet)
Kuro no Kiseki 3 (Not out announced yet but is basically confirmed)

added lines to seperate the games by arcs

They're great but start with the Sky trilogy as all games are interconnected
