Buy low sodium salt then.

Lots of potassium.

Yes, its necessary. Those potassium channels dont channel themselves.

If your potassium gets low, you will vomit profusely. It happened to my dad after he got out of the hospital the first time several years ago. He felt sick constantly and couldn't keep food down. The doctor deduced his potassium was low and prescribed a supplement. Hasn't been a problem since.

Yep, and majority of people aren't getting enough, while going well above their sodium limit in the U.S. at least. It sort of counteracts sodium's high blood pressure.

. 3500mg for the average man and 2600 for the average women for potassium. I don't even get near those levels. I don't know how anyone does. A banana has about 400mg.

Spinach, yam, avocados, some legumes, fish avocado, fish like salmon..

Magnesium is more important.

Also there are a ton of better sources for potassium than bananas. Beans have a lot. Also the sugar in banana is a bigger problem than carbs.

Life tip/trick/hack: eat bananas when they're green before they ripen. You'll get all the benefits none of the detriments

everything you read on a medical label is pretty important. I found out I had low magnesium. I'll be honest with you. I had no idea what that meant. But apparently having low magnesium means that your body will start to get muscle spasms, so I had to have a full IV of it prior to one of my chemo treatments a couple weeks ago.

I'm still waiting to hear from a nutritionist to see whats what and modify my diet. I very rarely eat fish as I don't really like the taste of it, but modifications might have to be made.

This is all around 1 cup unless specified. Mg are estimates
Potatoes = 800 mg
Sweet Potatoes = 800 mg
Yams = 1200 mg
Plantains = 1200 mg
Spinach = 800 mg
Beans,White = 1000 mg
Black Beans = 600 mg
Red Beans = 400 mg
Lentils = 700 mg
Swiss chard = 1000 mg
Bok Choy = 1200 mg for 2 cups
Beet Greens = 1300 mg
Salmon = 1000 mg
Avocado = 1000 mg
Milk = 700 mg
Acorn Squash = 900 mg
Tomatoes = 1000 mg per 2 cup
Soybeans = 900 mg

The amount of potassium can change depending on if you cook your veggies or not. For people who don't want to consume a lot of carbs I usually go with a stir fry of Beet Greens,Swiss Card,and Bok Choy. I think that's under 200 calories.

And just for fun
Banana = 500 mg

Does that even work? I thought once a fruit was picked it got all of the sugar it would ever get. At least that's how it works with tomatoes. One that was picked while when it has just a little bit of it's final color will be just as sweet as a fully vine ripened tomato. But a tomato that was picked green and then allowed to ripen will not be as sweet nor will it contain as much sugar

As a fruit ripens, the starches break down into sugars.
