Current Events > GTAV & RDR2 are great games, but the way they treat male rape is off-putting

like, I know they deal with dark issues, but GTAV deals with Trevor raping/sexually abusing Floyd as a dark joke, and in RDR2, Arthur can apparently be drugged and raped by the incest couple he comes across, and we don't see any trauma or anything from it, just that you can kill them and that's that.

the second one isn't a mandatory part of the story, and I know that people deal with things differently, but I just thought it was weird how R* chose to add those parts to the games in ways that felt poorly done and/or really messed up, IMO.

I don't think there was any implied rape with the incest twins, they just left you for dead. But that dude in the woods is completely implied to have raped Arthur, and even though you can go back and get revenge the whole thing just feels so unnecessary and doesn't serve any narrative purpose.

I think its so silly when people take something super raunchy and pick one random thing to be upset about ignoring the rest of the stuff
