I'm looking for a folding blade as I'm scared I would stab my leg through my pants with a fixed blade

Self-defense from another person? A gun.

A knife, unless you're adequately trained and maybe not even then, is just something else an attacker can use against you.

ignore bullies who mock you verbally.. dont show or carry anything of value. If you use a knife or a gun on another person you will go to prison.

If your allowed to have knives, then might I suggest the old belt buckle knife. Small, concealed, and no stuffing your pockets.

Just get a benchmade, or a Toor. But a folding knife isnt really made for self defense.

Toor makes a number of beautiful fixed blades, as well.

Edit because I forgot Shivworks. Check them out.

What are you gonna do with a knife? Throw it at your attacker? Actually that's a good plan. Get those throwing knives that pop out of wrist sheaths. You'll look super cool and be protected

Never really saw the point of carrying a knife for self-defense. People say that, if you're getting mugged, you should just give them your wallet anyway (even if you do have a knife or mace). So what's the point of having it? I guess it's good for a life or death situation though.

Texas legalized open carrying swords I believe. Never knew it was illegal.

Oh shit, there are almost no knife laws in Arkansas.
You can carry whatever the fuck you want.

Personally? I prefer CRKT knives. Solid, useful, and fun.
An M21 would be great.

I alternate what I carry personally.
The Raiju is a personal favorite, along with the Fossil.

If you want lower profile avoid the crossbones, it's tip up in pocket and prone to opening. (I cut myself to the bone on mine). The Moxie is great, so is the Ripple.

Benchmade has the SOCP which is really solid.

Pepper spray instead

Some people pepper spray doesn't phase. And law enforcement and military types are taught to keep fighting after being sprayed. Like they literally get sprayed and have to run some drills before being allowed to wash it out of their eyes.

I dont like anyones chances with a knife in those rare scenarios either.

Something is better than nothing. I mean if it was a 99%chance I'm gonna go down and I could easily knock that down to a 90% chance would.

That said I don't. I have a conceal carry permit and I still don't even carry my gun. Can't be bothered to remember to grab it everytime I leave home

I feel like open carrying a sword in Texas would just get you shot by some panicked person

Maybe.

I bet it's used more for people to carry around machetes being wanna be tough guys rather than actual swords.

Which is kinda fucked up now that I think about it. Let's legalize the open carry of MS-13s favorite melee weapon in a state I'm sure has their fair share of them .

That said I'm all for open carry of anything that's not a full auto gun. Well and stuff like rocket launchers before someone tries implying I said I was OK with that.

I have a knife at home but idk, that's just if I have the edge against someone. Carrying it around in public just seems adrenaline inducing in a bad way. I'm worried that some people are so prepared to kill someone that they will when nothing has to escalate like that.

It's not a self defense knife, but I've had my Benchmade for years now and it's been my go to for pretty much everything. Solid as a rock and the edge has held up very well, with just the occasional sharpening stone treatment.

This is a bad idea as your weapon can easily be taken from you and used against you. Being in such close quarters for a fight is rarely a good thing, range is your friend.

Better to take some self defense classes, get pepper spray, and or a gun instead of a knife.
