Same as topic title

Try to answer without bias. Yes I realize there's exceptions.

I think in general, yes, the more expensive products tend to be better tasting.

Shredded cheese for example has great differences. Walmart's Great value cheese is ass and you should never buy it because it has no flavor. At least buy Kraft or Tillamook, but if you want the good stuff go for Sargentos. Also any other store brands cheese is better than Walmarts lmao.

Straying away from shredded cheese, vintage cheddar is delicious and worth the price, hair is great with almonds, sunflower seeds, craisins and hummus.

Yes in general but with diminishing returns

A $10 bottle of wine will be world's apart from a $2 bottle of wine, but a $300 bottle of wine won't necessarily be any better, just rarer/different

Lemme guess, you think the only cheese we have in America is Velveeta, and Cheese Whizz. I can get some really good cheese at my grocerys deli. Last week I got some really good smoked Gouda to go with some ham I had left over from Christmas.

Only people that dont know any better buy it shredded. The anti caking agents they put in shredded cheese make it so it doesnt melt properly.

I always buy in blocks. What kind of food desert do you live in that doesnt have many types of cheeses in blocks? Every grocery store I go to has blocks of the cheaper stuff (Kraft, Cabot, store label) in dairy and then the good stuff near the deli.

BTW I dont consider Kraft or Sargentos to be the good stuff.

I really think Cabot has different tiers. The stuff packaged in plastic vs the stuff packed in wax. ie the wax packed cheese is better.

Im not saying we have the best cheese in the world, but to say America sucks at cheese is a gross exaggeration. And, I am not going to some niche speciality shop that only foodies know about, no, I am talking about a supermarket deli.

In all honesty? No. There was an interview done on Conan where BJ Novak brought up Cadbury Cream Eggs and the size of them were close to half of what they used to be. Past that, fresh food used to be fresh where I live. It used to be affordable. These days I'm paying triple the price of a yellow onion for it to be half the size, and I'm lucky if its not already going bad.

If we were talking about electronics then yes, typically spending more money will get you a better product. But when it comes to food, you can make food that tastes better than anything you get frozen for far cheaper than you can buy it for. Save in part for Costco Rotisserie Chickens and hot dogs.

That said, there are exceptions to the rule. These usually involve Deli meats and fresh cheese. Those tend to be much higher in quality. But your also paying out the ass for them.

I would like to note, that Kraft at least up here in Canada actually tastes somewhat decent. Mainly talking about their Kraft Dinner which completely different apparently than the Mac and Cheese Kraft the States get.

My experience is that they are all about quantity, not quality. I wont deny they have gigantic portions and its a good amount of food for the cost. But its subpar. Obviously it depends though

eh, I don't agree with your assessment too much. I think in general, a generic or "lesser" brand of the same product is fine. But, for me, I usually buy a couple packages of baby spinach for salads when I go to Kroger. There isn't really a "cheap" version of that. So, I kinda agree with you, but not for the reasons you listed.
