Hopefully Blackpink decides they want to actually perform. Their world tour has been a lackluster shit show

Edit: omg DPR Live and DPR Ian are playing good for them!!

Let's see what I'd be into...

Gorillaz (seen them at Coachella in 2010 already), Kaytranada, Domi & JD Beck (!!!), The Comet is Coming...

Chromeo (seen em at Sasquatch 2011), Marc Rebillet, Hiatus Kaiyote (oh goddamn yes), The Breeders...

3rd day is pretty huge for those first three. Frank Ocean, Bjork, Kali Uchis (seen her but she's released some of my favorite material since then), Sudan Archives and El Michaels Affair.

Decent, but yeah, I don't know soooo many of those. OLD!!!!!!

2010 Coachella was prettay prettay good personally

but I was there, 19, and a Faith No More fan, so the bias is strong. Dillinger Escape Plan were my first metal show there....I shook hands with John Waters, Charlotte Gainsbourg, saw DEVO, Les Claypool, LCD Soundsystem, Them Crooked Vultures, Gorillaz, Pavement...

I mean really, it wasn't that much bigger of a list than this year that I was actually into. You just barely have the time to see it all once you're actually there.

yeah i went 2012-2017 (helps that i only
live a few hours away)

some of the most fun times Ive ever had in my life but i feel like Im not the demographic anymore. which is totally fine. i see other people getting super excited for this lineup and Im jealous cause it reminds me of how excited i would get every year. music festivals just seem exhausting now lmao

Have to admit that I'd like to be able to go and hear not only Gorillaz but Bad Bunny (heard about him but haven't heard any of his music). Friday and Sunday look like the best days as far as acts are concerned.

Honestly Danny Elfman and Bauhaus are the only two acts I'm aware they've hosted I care about. The upside down performance of Bela Lugosi's Dead rules

Guess Im still hip with it, because I recognize the vast majority of these artists. Coachella is overly corporate and has never interested me though. Ive only been to three festivals in my life though (at least ones longer than a day; used to go to Live 105s one day festival BFD every year from 2005 - 2008 before I started working at the venue) and they were all in 2016: Sound on Sound in Texas (was the only year they had it and the line up was awesome; theres a new festival in Connecticut with the same name but definitely not the same organizers based on the line up), Psycho Las Vegass inaugural year, and Animal Collectives Camping Weekend. Had a great time at all of them, but personally prefer smaller, more intimate shows. Almost went to a festival here in Japan over the summer, but the line up wasnt quite strong enough to sell me. Though I did end up meeting Carly Rae Jepsens tour photographer in a bar in Tokyo and hung out with him for the night as he taught me about gin (and funnily he knew my sister who lives in the same city as him and does tour photographer for a lot of bands and musicians; shes currently on tour with The 1975). He offered to get me into the festival for free, but never followed through. Still a fun night though.

Cool note about this years Coachella is that my acquaintances (not close enough to actually call them friends) and favorite band from my local punk scene back home are playing this year (Scowl).
