I was hoping it would be half off (even $30 is too much) but it's been 3 years now and it doesn't seem like it'll get any cheaper than this, so I'm gonna get it. Just hoping it's not too old school to be enjoyable

It's like I tell a friend who hates Nintendo. They get away with charging full price because they know their fans and nintendo families will buy them. Meanwhile, those who hate Nintendo won't get those games even if they were half off or hell 80% off.

So a drop in price isn't going to make someone who has no intention of getting a Nintendo to suddenly buy it, meanwhile those who like the Nintendo will just pay the MSRP amount and then some.

The few in the middle like myself who are in neither extreme just aren't enough to make a difference in how Nintendo structures their pricing.

$42 is their preferred sale price. Remember the Greatest Hits or Players Choice where the games would go down to $20? I miss those days.

eh, part of me still prefers the original

mainly because of all the tricks and glitches you can pull off

That's why I'm happy with the DX version on my N3DS. I don't need the remake. It's still a great game.

Yeah, it was a weird feeling playing it. It's fantastic, and the QoL improvements are great, but is also exactly like the original. There's not much feeling of "newness" playing it, and I just felt like I was going through the motions like I already had several times before.

The QoL stuff is pretty good though. Like shield and pegasus boots having their own buttons, and being able to lift up stuff without equipping the bracelet. I go back and forth between both versions

This is true

I do wish they had given the Roc's Feather its own button too, I pretty much always have it equipped....

LA remake is pretty underrated and more people should play it. Its superior to the original.

The links awakening remake is amazing and absolutely worth 42$

There are some things that bother me about the remake, though

1. No photo mouse. Loved that little guy. They could have added a whole batch of new photo ops. i get the photo sidequest was to go along with the GB Printer, but it was still fun regardless.
2. The 'dungeon maker' is pretty lame
3. There are figurines you can win from the Trendy Game, but you just sort of randomly display them in people's houses. If it were more like TWW where every character and enemy had a figurine, and were properly displayed, it'd be worth the effort getting them.
4. You can't get the Lvl 2 sword until much later in the game, due to how the seashell quest was changed.

Still a great game, though

Nintendo games hold their value three times longer according to JD Power

Considering:

Bomber Crew
Alwa's Legacy
Exit the Gungeon
Rogue Legacy (most likely)
Broforce (most likely)
And there's so many Big Fish titles for only $2 a pop.

Can anyone recommend some good ones on these?

Its just sony and microsoft have so many games that are similarly as good on sale or in the greatest hits or both. Theres times when all greatest hits are $5-$10 new/digital. That with how weak the switch is.

You can just get so much more game with the other companies. If youre a nintendo fan you dont care about sales and will pay much more to get a zelda/mario etc. game.

Even the original is worth that price.

I'd be tempted to get this title, Luigi's Mansion, or even Splatoon 3 at half off, but I'm not giving in to Nintendo's hubris of never having meaningful sales.

What does that even matter if you buy the game digital or buy it with no intent to sell? Why care if someone else buys it at a lower price years later?

Managed to pick up BlazBlue: Central Fiction from the sale for $12

been playing a lot of Guilty Gear lately, and have a Switch arcade stick shipping in in a couple of days

A sales a sale. At this rate complaints about it probably can afford it multiple times over.

I like that some of the bosses are actually a bit more challenging now.
The final boss especially.

Trendy Game actually uses actual physics this time, yet cheeseballing it to max out money is still viable.

I feel like I bought LA for $35 one black Friday at Walmart. Could be thinking of something else, though.

It's my favorite Zelda game. The Switch version is alright. Have the DX one on my 3DS so I have the best of both worlds.

I'd say it's worth it at $42.

Retailers are better at discounting 1st-party Nintendo games, for physical, than Nintendo itself can be arsed to bother for eshop downloads.

Its worth it but more games are worth it for cheaper on other systems. If you want good sales then youre not getting a nintendo system.

For fuck's sake, you can purchase a Game Boy and a hardcopy for less than that.
