Board 8 > What the hell is up with ugly clams these days

So with geoducks in the ocean last month I was intrigued by a decently rated clam and I just can't get over how ugly the rest of the clams were.

I'm not exactly sure when exactly clamers went from "hard clams are cool" which is true and I don't mind a lot of old school clams at all to "bivalves don't matter at all and in fact purposefully ugly clams are good.

Another clam I really wanted to like was the atlantic surf clam that came out this last year that was just horrifically ugly

Not sure why this has become a thing
