RDR2s slow gameplay would be a problem for me if the game world wasn't so deep. But since it is, it helps you take everything in. Red Dead 2 is an amazingly immersive game with an open world that has sooooo much shit to do in it that I never got bored with it. It's easily the best open world in any video game I've ever played. The story really resonated with me too, and I ended up hooked and putting in hundreds of hours. The first game is weird to come back to after that because it feels closer to its GTA roots than the second game does. A lot of the writing and mission setups feel like they were taken straight out of that and just given a different setting, and the tone tends to be a lot more tongue in cheek and silly in a lot of places. The shooting was really really good, maybe even better than the second game, but the movement and especially horse controls I found to be a lot rougher. And Undead Nightmare I just kind of didn't enjoy. The only way to play it, as far as I know, is with PSNow (or whatever they're calling it now). While the input lag didn't bother me, it means you can't downgrade the updates in any way. This was a problem because one of the updates fucked it up. One of the major activities is clearing out graveyards. It was a very common bug to have the zombies go invisible and not count towards the mission goal. Required a full restart.
