Just learned one of my friend's father walked out when my friend was only 8 years old. In the most stereotypical way possible, his father said he was going out to buy milk and cigarettes. My friend asked for a Kinder Egg and his father agreed to buy him one. 25 years later and he is still sad whenever he sees a Kinder Egg.

That s*** is messed up.

Anyone got similar stories?

They probably are drunk 24/7 so they they don't remember their kids

Unfortunately you dont need a permit or license to have kids, so a lot of absolute losers have them. They cant cope so they would rather take the easy path and disappear. Even worse is they go on to start the cycle again in many cases.

It's surprisingly easy when you don't give a single shit about the mother or the kid or even if you do you you care about yourself more

I typically watch a lot of TV, bang my younger girlfriend, and go on pretty cool vacations.
Little shit never appreciated me anyway. All he did was slobber all over himself and expect me to buy him shit like chocolate eggs.

They hate The Woman and the kid is part of the woman. Thats how a dead beat explained it to me. But he says kid was a complete mistake. Its so awful this is not a friend of mine btw.

If they lack morals enough to do that and hate their family enough to do that, they probably do it pretty easily

But supposedly he still gets along with his kids. He's wife was the driving factor, and thinks they decided on each other too soon in life.
And what tipped him over was a health scare he had.

I don't see that as a clear justification or morally correct, but I see the motivation.

I know of someone who came back (after 10 years), and brought a pack of Cigarettes with them, and when they went into the house (as it was open), they put them on the Table in the Kitchen, and said "I got them".

My paternal grandfather did that. He had 3 kids with my grandma(my dad being his youngest). Then one day he said he was going out for cigarettes and never came back. Idk how he lived after that, if he had another family or not. Fate is ironic though, he was killed when he went to the store for cigarettes and walked in on a robbery.

Mom was pregnant with my older brother at the time. So it has been quite some time between him leaving and dying. Grandma remarried and had 2 other kids who were adults by the time I was born. So I assume he had a chance at a happier life before he died.

Honestly, I wish my dad had done the same. His side of the family sucks. Big time. There's only 1 good one out of the whole lot, dad's older brother who happens to resemble their dad.

No fucking idea? My daughter's dad wanted a kid more then anything and I was a bit reluctant to have one. He promised that no matter how things went between us, he'd always be there for her. We broke up, I tried to maintain contact between the two of them, he always treated her as an afterthought and constantly broke his promises to meet up and see her. I'm just grateful she was too young to remember any of his bullshit. He missed out on a good kid.

I have like, absolutely no respect for deadbeat dads and moms.
