Raw tomatoes are inedible

Mayo haters are wrong. A burger with BBQ sauce or teriyaki sauce is good, but adding mayo takes it to the next level.

Tomatoes? Gross.

Lettuce, its just crispy water. Don't get me wrong, I like a salad now and then, but I keep my salad separate from my burgers. And if I'm being honest, freshly grown cherry tomatoes just hit different than store bought tomatoes.

Actually mayo tastes nice on a chicken burger. It's pretty good

Onions. Followed by pickles and mustard (in moderation, mustard is not too bad. Too much ruins it)

For a burger, I wouldn't put onions, tomatoes, or lettuce, though... I hate onions, don't like raw tomatoes (I only like tomatoes for soup, or made into a sauce), and feel indifferent to lettuce... Like I don't hate it, but I also don't like it... It's just kind of there... The other stuff I'm fine with...

For my preference, none of it. Gimme mine with bacon and grilled mushrooms.

I chose tomatoes because they can make the bun soggy. The rest I can take off on my own, like onions or lettuce, or deal with like pickles, ketchup, mustard or mayo.

Im right. Some mustards are enhanced by additional mayo; most mayos consist of oil + eggs + lemon juice + mustard as the base IIRC

Some recipes of yellow mustard use mayonnaise as a base. There's no one correct way to make yellow mustard.

Also just using mustard and vinegar will probably get you something closer to those mustard packets in Chinese food than it will the American mass produced yellow mustard.

All of those serve to make a burger better or amplify the flavor in some way or another... except mayo, which is just not right on a burger at all. It's good for turkey, but not burger.
