Oh for me it wasn't so much about the commentary, but about the setting (a group of guests thinking they are given a luxury experience, but then shit happens).

Is Menu more of a thriller/horror then?
They mean for some of it to be comedic, but I think they try a little too hard (or not enough, I don't know). Still it's entertaining.

It's a dark comedy. It definitely tries too hard (and not hard enough other times).

I thought the little menu interludes were very funny.

Great movie one of my favorites of last year

The night brims with defiled scum, and is permeated by their rotten stench.
Just think. Now you're all set to hunt and kill to your heart's content.

John leguizamo and the assistant characters really didn't really deserve to die like that. Well I guess because the reasoning the chef gives were funny (part of the dark comedy).

Overall a fun watch. I don't think it's the best film out there but I gotta give it props for some originality and the movie pointing out the toxic part about the food culture.

Just watched.. no regrets or apologies for watching. The right kind of people wouldnt care about my apology anyway and the rest would use it to try and take advantage of me.

Also particularly enjoyed one shot at the start of a crab on the beach feeding.

Certainly that was well-placed foreshadowing as to what would truly be on The Menu.

That was one of the biggest fuck ups on the "comedy" part, imo, like the stand out one. When the chef told him that he was going to die because he made a bad movie, wasted a day of his time (more like 2 hours or something) to watch it, makes a big deal to bring him and his chick out there, DOESN'T even seem to know the chick, like the whole thing is a complete afterthought, or they're trying to cram all this in just so the chef can get in one little quip about how his precious free time was wasted on a stupid movie...just an ignorant premise for a joke in this context.
