A. A physician or other healthcare professional shall not provide gender transition procedures to any individual under twentysix (26) years of age.
B. A physician or other healthcare professional shall not refer any individual under twenty-six (26) years of age to any healthcare professional for gender transition procedures.

Think uh... we were warned about this but people were like "it'll never happen"

You think slippery slopes don't exist? We're already on one. Always were.

Possibly - 26 is when you're forcibly kicked off your parents' insurance if they have it. Younger people are less likely to have their own insurance or have lower quality insurance.

On the other hand it's plausible they just picked a random ass age high enough that most trans folk that can't get gender affirming care at all will have killed themselves by then, because republican politicians are fucking monsters.

You can actually sign up at 17, with parental consent (which is just as easily forgeable, to my understanding).

But they'll never stop anyone from sacrificing their life for the state. God knows they (politicians) would never be willing to do so

It's partly to do with the debunked and unscientific "brain finishes developing by 25" bullshit, partly to make it so we are too scared to transition. So yes, they want us dead. Because after they ban it for 26 year olds they'll ban it for everyone. And even after they forcefully detransition everyone, they'll continue and jail anyone who even exhibits gender nonconforming behavior which will eventually lead to women being banned from school and forced to wear dresses or skirts and LGB people also being rounded up.

This IS genocide. They want all trans people dead first though because they know the average cis person won't lift a finger to stop them and in many cases like their initial attempts (bathroom bans, sports bans, legal change bans) they know that they can easily convince the average cis person that it's "protecting kids" and those people will cheer on these awful policies, convinced it's the right thing to do.

These sort of bills may not pass the first time but give it 3-4 years and it'll be guaranteed to pass and then like Florida's don't say gay laws they'll start passing even more cruel and strict versions in other states. Just because it might not pass now doesn't mean it is the end of the road.

Even cis "allies" almost always ignore our stories and listen to reports by other cis people. Even if those reports are themselves recounting our stories. -_- But yeah. Make them think it's about sports fairness or protecting kids and suddenly they'll be defending the bigoted side and they can't even say no to buying a brand of fast food chicken or some wizard bigot game.

There's not even a point in trying to reason with them since they'll just repeat "think of the children" ad nauseam and call you a groomer for supporting trans people.

Recently, a YouTube content creator I followed years ago came out as trans. In the comments of her most recent video, there were people feigning concern for her wellbeing by mutilating her body - not just with surgery, but just by injecting hormones. When someone hit back at them over that, they dove into a rant about big pharma making people think they need to change their body chemistry to be happy and how it was an evil practice that mutilated people and tightened the grip that pharmaceutical companies have on the world. It's the up to date version of "sheeple", and the way these jackasses try to be "politically correct" about is is by expressing concern over mutilation, even when the trans people they're commenting on are perfectly happy.

We're already seeing queerness getting legislated away as perverse, as "grooming" children and for being oversexualised. But what people either don't realise or are actively ignoring is that it was never going to stop there. When queer people stop being a threat to children, they begin to be a danger to themselves - poor, misguided souls being manipulated by a medical industry that wants to chew them up and spit them out. And thus, For Their Own Safety, we need to legislate away the ability for queer people to make decisions that affirm their existence and determine their future as queer people so they don't "make any mistakes" and wind up being unhappy for the rest of their lives due to those decisions.

If you think that's altruism, giving them more time to lock in such an important decision - well, first of all you almost certainly don't understand the age limits that were always in place before this, specifically the years of therapy necessary to gain a medical certificate to get gender-affirming surgery after a transgender person turned 18. Nor do you understand the time-sensitive nature of gender transition, before your body locks in your hormones, your neuroplasticity - everything.

Secondly, and more relevant to the current topic: look at how the same people treat poverty as a personal sin, and blue-collar workers as inherently inferior and worthy of less respect than some snake oil salesman they idolize as a genius who tells them what they want to hear. What they're doing to trans people is infantilising them as an excuse to take their rights away and dressing it up as concern.

Before, it was to "protect the children". A bunch of droolers went "WhAt iF pUbErTy bLoCkErS ArE bAd FoR yOu???" despite decades of research and practical application having extremely few side effects at all for anyone. But the tide turned because of concern, concern, concern, all boiled over by the right wing. You can't trust these self-mutilating queers, we have concerns about the medical science that's been around for over fifty years!

At least when they were fixated on transgender teens who wanted to pause their puberty, undertake therapy and potentially medically transition when they were legally allowed to - or simply stop taking the blockers and undergo puberty normally if they decided they were happy with their assigned gender - they could hide under that snivelling catchphrase of theirs, "protect the children!".

What fucking justification do you have for denying that care for people who are physically and legally adults?

Why can you be legally allowed to smoke, drink, vote and serve in the military, but not be of sound mind to make a decision to transition genders?

Again, it's coaching gender affirming care in the language of the deranged. It's framing it as self-harm being attempted by people whoa re too young to understand it, who have to be protected from it until they're old enough to know better.

But the cut-off date for that is usually 21.

This is one step towards the age of consent for gender affirming care going higher and higher, until the hysterical right-wing "concern" over it being mutilation takes over and gets it banned outright.

We went from queer people being able to marry each other and self-determinate socially and legally, to queer and interracial marriage being under attack after Roe V. Wade and the self-determination of queer people being likened to mutilation, in the span of six years.
