Hes supposedly doing it at the request of the Orthodox Pope so that Orthodox Russians can celebrate christmas. Which is hilarious because he had no problem bombing Ukraine during every other holiday, but this one is mostly for propaganda reasons so that he can claim Ukraine is some sort of godless wasteland that needs conquering. But it ultimately doesn't matter because there's been at least one report of a family's home being shelled in eastern Ukraine by russians, showing that even when Putin orders a ceasefire on his own troops he's full of lies. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz.
