Don't bother if you just want to break your arm trying to yank yourself off about any other console or PC. I'm specifically talking about PS5.

You're tempted to get a console but you don't know what games it has?

Forbidden West's upcoming DLC is gonna be PS5 exclusive, but at least for me that's the only thing (other than technical stuff eg. Load time improvements) that I'm missing out on by only having PS4.

So far (I am not well informed so sorry if this is is ignorant) I can't really see what the point of a PS5 is. It's almost the entire PS4 catalogue with very slightly, almost imperceptibly better graphics. Performance is better at least, if frames matter to you a lot in games you've probably already played.

If you have a PC that can run Elden Ring then no there is no reason for you to buy PS5

I think literally only Demon's Souls remake and Ratchet and Clank are the 2 worthwhile actual PS5 exclusives.
The rest are on PC or PS4

Well, I don't have a PS4 at the moment.

Coming from someone1 who has had a PS5 since day 1 and actually loves the console, the main appeal of owning one right now isn't so much it's exclusive games (which isn't that big of a list right now) but with how games in general run so much better on the PS5 than they do on the aging PS4/PS4 pro in comparison.

Obviously something like this isn't going to be a big deal for someone who is already a PC gamer since a properly set up PC is going to run majority of the current games better than any newer console can (in this situation it actually would be great to wait for a decent actual game exclusives list), but for someone who mainly sticks to console gaming the PS5 has been pretty great.

Anyway, actual exclusive games that I liked/can vouch for is demon's souls, ratchet and clank rift apart, and returnal. I am also really looking forward to stellar blade.

What you want to do is just get native PS5 versions of whatever game you can think of and actually try it if its something you already liked on the PS4. Final fantasy 7 remake is the best example of a game that runs so much better on the PS5 that it actually makes playing through it again fun compared to it's original PS4 version.

EDIT: Ah yeah, I see your previous posts about already having a gaming PC. You better off just waiting on a PS5 then.

This is also true. If you don't have a PS4 than PS5 is a no brainer. It runs everything from Ps4 pretty much buttery smooth. From what I've tested anyway.
And now that the shortage is finally over PS4 releases will finally be phased out.

And for the people in the back who obviously missed the point: I was asking for opinions on the games themselves. Not just a list.

Astros playroom is honestly the best exclusive so far. Best pack in game I've ever played.
Demons souls is s tier in terms of being a faithful remake. But deep down its still just a ps3 game.
Haven't actually played ratchet and clank but it's probably decent.

It's really just more of the first one. There are some improvements, but it's nothing ground-breaking. There are some new robot animals to fight which are all pretty cool and the present-time story is a step-up from the first one.

I wanna try Rift Apart but I feel like there's a not-zero chance that it'll make its way to PC.

That said I'll probably still get a PS5, if for no other reason than to replace my PS4 and give me more options.

I just beat the main story for Horizon: Zero Dawn. So I'm very interested in playing Forbidden West... especially with how it ended. LOL

I've also been on the fence about getting a PS5 as well, as my PS4 seems to be getting slower and slower by the day. I'm not a PC gamer, so this info helps. Thanks.

For me, the increased performance for the vast majority of the PS4 games I already owned (I have 400+ PS4 games at this point.....been some real good PSN and in-store sales over the years. You can just take the external hdd if you have PS4 games installed in it, slap it straight into the PS5, and you are good to go. I have owned a 8 TB external hdd for some years so its a ton of PS4 games installed on it) has been well worth the 528+tax I paid for a disc version. After playing demon's souls for a bit on that first day it released, I was busy going through a lot of my old PS4 games and being happy on how stuff like monster hunter world, sekiro, and dark souls 3 doesn't run like ass, lol. Even PS4 games that is locked to 30fps is going to benefit with no slowdown assuming the game had a lot of it. (Although I can't lie, I really would like to get either a 60fps patch or a re-release of bloodborne at this point).

Hell I was enjoying some one piece pirate warriors 3 and earth defense force 5 on like the 3rd day after the PS5 dropped. Friggin' blowing my mind playing some sweet earth defense force jank with no slowdown on a console, lol.

You don't really buy a ps5 for more games. If you want better graphics and better performance for your ps4 games go for it.

My wife bought me a PS5 for Christmas and so far the only PS5 game I own directly is Demon's Souls. I also have Cyberpunk 2077 I guess, but that is multiplat.

This is the truth of it. My PS4 games that I hated playing are now vastly superior. I never had a Pro so I had a base PS4 and thought it was fine. Now that I'm playing games updated with PS5 specific patches, the old games feel alive again with some good stuff. I also have a 4K TV so being able to utilize that finally after years has been quite something.

Right now I'm keeping most of my PS4 stuff on there while any new stuff I'll just get the PS5 version.

I got it for Ratchet and Clank and FF7 Intergrade mostly, but also for the games coming out this year, Street Fighter 6 , Tekken 8 , Final Fantasy XVI, and also future games like Persona 6.

NO. NO NO NO it is all indie stuff right now, theres a trickle here and there with god of war but not as many as a real console if you dont believe me go to ps store and filter by just ps5. The fact is that ps5 is another update to the ps4but worth it just for the loading. I knew there was a reason crash trilogy had weirdly bad load times, on ps5 its 3 seconds.

Are some of the textures still ass on the ff7 remake on ps5?
