what jerks. ive been waiting and waiting for my real plates and nothing. finally i gave up and called DMV and said there was no license plate order, just a transfer and it should have came with plates.

no plates. they gave me paper plates. so i had to go down to the DMV and buy new plates for 25 dollars.

time to take them to small claims court for 25 dollars.

As you should, TC. $25 is $25 at the end of the day, especially when inflation is ballooning out of hand here lately.

Isn't that how it normally works? You buy a new vehicle, you get temp paper plates. You then need to register with the DMV to get "real" ones from them.

No. Normally the dealership handles that part when you buy a new car

Dealers can actually get you new plates when you get a new car. It comes later in the mail. I asked for them specifically not to give me new plates and to just transfer my old ones but they did anyway >_>. Oh well I got a great deal on my car so I said fuck it

No, you either transfer plates or they get new ones for you. It's literally part of what you pay them for.

You should call them up an bitch tc. When I got my new car they didn't send registration sticker for 3 weeks because they calculated costs wrong and wanted another 11 bucks.

Huh, haven't bought a new truck since 2011 so maybe I'm not remembering correctly, or I got screwed, but I distinctly remembering having to go to the DMV to get my plates.

i'm not sure if states have the same thing when it comes to plates. in oregon it requires the DMV and i think they give you the plates with payment.
