Back when you had to run errands during lunch time to go pay bills and visit the bank.

Good thing thanks to technology there is never a need to step foot in a bank ever again.

Biggest thing I first noticed I loved about having Fridays off...nothing worse than having to rush to.the bank during lunch when half the others are doing the same thing.

My bank recently changed their 24/7 ATM access to staffed hours only because they didn't want homeless people sleeping in ATM vestibule area.

Does your bank not do Saturdays?

The real scam is the fucking DMV

Only open Monday through Friday from 8-4. Its impossible to get anything done there during a lunch hour, especially when you factor in the time it takes to get there and back, so you have to take time off work to go there.

They tried making it a bit better by opening a separate office just for drivers licenses but even if you get there and its dead as fuck if you dont have an appointment they make you wait an hour. Literally make you sit there and stare at them not doing shit.

Except for those rare occasions you need a cashier's check. I needed one for the down payment on my mortgage

They should be open 24/7. If ever there was a thing that needed to be open all the time, it's a bank, seeing as how they're so important

The fact that something so critical to society closes so god damn much is a fuckin travesty

Bank branches are still a thing? Ive been with USAA for over a decade and havent needed assistance for anything with them.

Cashier's checks? Notaries? Taking out loans to pay for houses and cars? There's a ton of reasons to still go in banks

The bank I use closes on noon Thursday but stays open late Friday

Banks here are generally open until 8pm

You see youngins, once upon a time, there was a breadwinner and a homemaker, so one could do all this stuff during the day while the other worked, and there was less need for people to work evenings. It's not a scam, it's dated thinking.

online banking and direct deposit helps a lot with that. does suck when you actually need to go in person for a loan or to deposit/take out money from your account.

DMV is definitely a bad one. so is doctors and dentists and stuff. so many places are only open during normal working hours. most doctors and dentist are closed on the weekend and seems like most are closed a day during the week and have a day they close early. know some will have a day they stay open late but even that's normally just till like 6 so you'd still have to rush after work if they'll even take you.

A lot of loans can be done online nowadays too. You just sign electronically and then boom heres $10k

One other crazy thing is even when you do go to the bank at say 2pm on a Tuesday there is still a long line. Like who are all these jobless people and why do they need to go to a bank?

My bank closes early and at some point over the last couple years they actually closed their doors so you can't even use atm machine after hours.

Banks closing early doesn't really bother me. I have time to book off if I need to deal with bank issues. What bothers me is that Gamestop stores near me close at 5 pm on Saturdays, and 4 on Sundays. I rarely go there to begin with, but at the same time, its just strange. You have people working 9-5 on weekdays and then they go home and have things to do.

Weekends you would think they would be open later to deal with the vast majority of consumers who aren't working.
