By famous I mean those ones who are world famous outside of wrestling fans.

I guess I can add Brock Lesnar too since he gained a lot of fame from the UFC but he also debuted in 2002.

I don't really follow it much these days but I'm pretty sure Roman Reigns is overall considered their top billed superstar these days. Although I don't know if he'd be known by anyone who doesn't care at all about wrestling unlike some of the ones who came before him.

Ive seen Roman mentioned on ESPN and stuff. He just needs a big movie role because he's in the same space Cena was before his non wwe movies.

Cena was great in Trainwreck and Blockers.

I remember Cena being super popular with kids back in the day. I wasn't overly surprised when he transitioned to movies. I could see people already knowing about him. He wasn't as big as Stone Cold or The Rock but he wasn't far off.

Maybe I stopped watching before it happened but I never really got that vibe from Batista funnily enough. He was a high card guy but he still very much seemed like he was in the wrestling bubble when I watched. Dunno where he'd be if he wasn't in GOTG. Maybe I'm wrong though as I stopped around right before he was becoming a main eventer,

I could see Reigns overall being considered around both of their ranges pre-movies yeah. All it takes is the right movie to be in. I'm sure we'll at least see another one eventually. It's still an opportunity to be noticed even if it's nowhere near as popular as it used to be.

Ronda Rousey and Jake Paul, but those are the exception who were famous, THEN went to wrestling.

Roman Reigns is not "popular" outside WWE and there's a good reason for it.

Neither because of him. Seth Rollins made the first one, and ain't no way Roman made the 2nd one.

He has given us two really boring Brock vs Romans, a flatline HHH vs Roman, and a vomit-inducing Undertaker vs Roman main event. Last WM, everyone was having a good time until his boring-self gave everyone a snoozer to go to sleep to. Main Eventers shouldn't consistently be giving people the biggest disappointment of the night.

At this point Batista did a decent job separating his wrestler persona to his acting career though. Took a lot of luck, but some people don't even know he's from wrestling, while most famous wrestlers outside WWE, people instantly know they're wrestlers turned full time actors

Also honestly the writers are at a bigger fault for how they handled Roman Reigns than Roman himself.

I mean, I don't know what to tell you, having 4 main event duds, and what would have been 5 if Seth didn't come in to save the day compared to one non-dud (and saying non-dud doesn't mean I'm saying they are great) is not something I'd consider to be good.

And that Taker vs RR match was not something any main eventer should want on their name.

I would agree with you if it weren't for the fact that, as a wrestler, RR ain't that good, and he's had control for the past 2 years.

Maybe. Although it's a bit murky as the fame was already there when she came in. But unlike Logan Paul she is full time so I suppose it counts.

It wouldn't surprise me if one of the recent women wrestlers end up becoming famous in the long run. Just seems like a matter of time.

To be fair, I didn't actually watch wrestling for the last 2 years. Seems Roman is purely to blame for anything after his set up then
