He was 45 years old. It is with a very heavy heart that the Green and Namatame families announce the passing of their husband, father, son and brother, Jeremiah Green, his mother Carol Namatame posted on Facebook. Jeremiah, drummer and founding member of the Issaquah based band Modest Mouse, lost his courageous battle with cancer on December 31. He went peacefully in his sleep, the post read. Jeremiah was a light to so many. At this time the family is requesting privacy. More information will be forthcoming including a Celebration of Life for friends and fans in the coming months. Jeremiahs loved ones would like to thank everyone for their continued well wishes and support. Modest Mouse announced Greens passing in an Instagram post Saturday. Today we lost our dear friend Jeremiah. He laid down to rest and simply faded out, the post read. Id like to say a bunch of pretty words right now, but it just isnt the time. Modest Mouse has had such an impact on me, the whole band means so fucking much to me. i drove home from a NYE party this morning blasting my favorite MM tracks crying by myself in my car MrMelodramatic posted... Feeling pretty bad about this :/ Green was one of my favorite drummers. Definitely explains why he wasnt on this current tour. Glad I got to see him in 2016 he actually did play some of the shows on the recent tour, i guess the one i was at in LA last month was the last show he ever played :( Im very fortunate to have seen him 10 times.
