While Im all for a less conservative society, I think it is a bad sign financially-speaking that this is happening (not a bad sign as in I wish this wasnt happening, but rather a bad sign of current conditions). I believe people tend to become more conservative as they age because they are actually earning money compared to their youth, so they want things to change less. Specifically when it comes to taxes (even though most conservative tax regulation only benefits the ultra wealthy).

The fact that aging Millennials are not becoming more conservative probably confirms that they are worse off as they age compared to the prior generations.

This whole analysis seems entirely shit if age is a cross-sectional variable. If it's longitudinal, that would be interesting, but I don't think it's likely. They don't say anywhere, so I assume it's cross-sectional, and all they have done is segregated up the usual plot based on generation. Means nothing, really.

They're the generation older than the boomers, who remember WW2 but were too young to fight in it. They grew up with segregation as the law of the land and thought baby boomers were a bunch of leftist hippies.

They've always been very conservative by today's standards.
