It took me a couple restarts to finally beat Phantom the giant spider boss. Nelo Angelo the shadow mirror knight boss guy was an extremely fun fight but wasnt too hard. The transforming Shadow Cat thing was really fun too. The Death Scissors in the sewers has beaten me a whole number of times. I was expecting a difficultly level around that of God of War PS2, but this game really demands excellence.

Which difficulty are you playing on?

As a kid I always did easy mode, but I tried a Normal mode playthrough when I got the HD collection and...I made it pretty far, but never managed to beat Nightmare 3.

Yeah, That that spider/scorpion hybrid boss was pretty hard. Especially the third fight against him.

Otherwise, the DMC series are great. 4 being my favorite.

The standard mode. I was offered easy mode after dying to Phantom a couple of times, but apparently it changes the controls to make Dante auto-combo, and I didnt want that. If easy mode just affected HP and damage values, I wouldve picked it in a heartbeat lol

Damn that inspired me. The sig is more of a reference to playing games long after release (DMC was first released in 2001!), but your interpretation works too.

Yeah its easily the hardest dmc game. I remember being stuck at Phantom for years lol

Got some time today, not much else to do besides get a haircut, so Ill be trying my hand at it again

I played it again in October, and it asks kind of a lot from you early on. It gets way easier after that.

If you can unlock Air Raid with Alastor, that thing is pretty OP most of the time.

Devil Trigger is op in that game. You accumulate it very quickly so use it to your advantage. Not unusual to be using it several times every single fight. Don't think of it as an "oh shit save me" button but rather a button you should be incorporating into fights all the time

I realized later that after beating Phantom, I shouldve reset and beat him a second time so I would keep all my yellow orbs (continues). Because I saved over the file, now I only get 1 extra continue if I die to a boss.

I remember there being a trick to phantom that made them easy, but sadly my memory sucks so I forgot what it is. Maybe getting on their back? I dont know, but once I figured it out they were easy to beat. I know this is absolutely no help and I apologize.

I died once or twice but the fight was manageable and extremely fun. Being more aggressive plays to your benefit, you can stun him if you clang swords enough times. Apparently you fight him multiple times so hell probably get harder later on.

Yeah thats what the ps4 trophy list lists him as. I also was spoiled on the nature of who he is. But it was pretty obvious with how the first encounter ended, with him running off.

Becuase I have a vague knowledge of the other games

Yeah it was a lot of fun, but sadly being so long ago I just cant remember what cheese I used on them. It was delicious though.

Regular boss, or sub boss. Whatever he is, I'm just tired of always fighting him

Tip for anyone playing:

instead of timing button presses to a certain rhythm, time your button presses based on Dantes animation. Doing that stabby stabby sword stab attack is way easier that way.
