I live with my father, and he has the street marked out as handicapped parking because he needs it.

Well, so does my wife. Both have placards.

After a snow emergency, the neighbor across the street has stayed parked in front of our house and refuses to move even after I asked.

Theyre trying to make excuses like we werent parked there. Yeah, because we had to move our vehicles for the snow emergency and then he parked there before I could and hasnt moved.

Cant. Its full. Which is why theyre parking in front of ours.

Maybe I will next time I see the wife move because she parks in front of their house, while the husband with bad knees parks across the street.

No. But it doesnt mean theyre not entitled assholes.

I'd have them towed, if they complain they can call the cops and explain why they're taking the spot of a disabled person.

Part of their argument is that he has bad knees so he needs to park across the street. Rather than in front of his own house where the wife parks.

If I could have them towed I would. But its not an option.

Covering the vehicle in snow is a possibility though.

Why don't they, you know, have a spot marked on their side of the street as handicap parking?

Cover it in snow and keep doing it until they move. Gonna be more of a hassle for them to keep removing the snow

That was pretty much my thought

However after they tried repeatedly to act like theyre all nice and considerate, and I refusing to let them use that argument, theyve said theyll move it next time he does and find a new spot.

I also explicitly let them know that both of our vehicles will be out there for the foreseeable future until I can get a second car into our garage. But right now its filled with tons of shit, two bikes which Im going to sell (Vespa like things), and a ton of tools. So I cant do anything until it starts getting warmer.

I called them inconsiderate repeatedly, but held back from calling them assholes.

I am doing a neighborly.

Feed the local birds so they get used to the area. If they're going to be petty then the birds can do the dirty work for you.

You maybe able to get them towed as usually disabled spots in front of homes are for said home not just anyone even if they have a place card. You have to live at the address as well. You may want to check the law on this. This could mean your wife could get towed using it though just to be clear, but you have the home owners permission so again check your local laws.

Weve already tried that. We were told that as long as they have a placard they can park there.

Update: when I got up... he had moved! Whered he move? Oh, he parked right behind the handicapped signs where there was open space the last two times he parked too

Its almost like thats actually being considerate to neighbors that have multiple cars that all need access to their parking spaces.

And hes literally parked no further away from his home.
