What do I need to know before I open this copy of 5 and can't return it >_>

Runs kinda booty on Switch tbh (not sure if PC runs better) but it's still pretty fun. It's basically a really chill fantasy farming sim where you befriend villagers and take them on dungeon crawling adventures, and you can tame monsters to fight with you and provide materials too. Open that bitch up if any of that sounds appealing to you.

How can a game that looks like that run bad on the Switch? God Nintendo release a new fucking console already and stop wasting good games on this dog shit hardware

It does run a little assy but it's still good

Short version: Stardew Valley with worse farming and better dungeon crawling. You can tame enemies you fight (including bosses) to either be party members or workers on your farm. Get familiar with gear crafting because you're going to be doing A LOT of it. I suggest looking up guides for it eventually because gear crafting gets really in-depth at high levels, although you won't need maxed out gear for main story content (post game, however, is a different story).

Oh I know, but Xb2 and 3 are prime examples as why Nintendo needs new hardware. They look good, but they are wasted from looking 10x better on the Switch. They are great games, but god I wish they were more than that.

It was only $39.99+tax CAD and I can get at least $30+tax guaranteed back for it if it's opened (but much more likely to nearly break even) so I figured I'd just grab it lmao.

Hey TC, do you have a gaming PC? Apparently the PC version is much better optimized. Might actually be better off returning the Switch version and look into getting the PC version instead. Next time it goes on sale I'm probably getting it on PC and never looking back. Much as I like the Switch version, its poor performance does start to overstay its welcome after a while.

You're in luck. The Steam winter sale is going on, and I believe it's on sale now.

Rune Factory games are nice and chill. 5 they added the ability to romance all the bachelors and bachelorettes which is cool. 5 also runs like booty like someone said. I thought 4 was really good but I started 5 and havent gotten back to it yet

Sadly I don't have the funds for it right now. I really will have to wait for the next sale. I'm also thinking I should make saving up for external storage a new priority cause my new laptop's storage is kinda booty.

Looks like I can actually get 4S from the Library, so I might actually just do that.

I bought 4 on Xbox and played it for about 15 minutes, that's my only experience with these games.

Haven't played 5 but 4 was great, it's definitely one of those special IPs

RF4 is definitely the best RF so far, if you try 5 and like the style, definitely give 4 a go. They took what made 4 great and tried to build upon it for 5, but forgot some important stuff in the process (enemy/boss drops are too scarce to make crafting fun, graphics are closer to the RF style than Frontier and Tide of Destiny, but the performance is awful).

the RF IP is part of my top 5 for sure.

I have RF4S, and it runs fine. I enjoy the top down aesthetic more than the 3D cartoon aesthetic that they're going with RF5. I don't think I'm going to buy RF5, but I wholly endorse purchasing RF4S.

Its choppier than my local karate school. I cant tell you to play as Ive barely played it myself but starting with 4S might be better for you. Its probably the best in the series

4 is probably the best one and runs fine

5 is 4 but in 3d with different characters and choppy, but not game breaking choppy as long as you're not super sensitive to that
