I have a friend that went to the ER because they didnt sleep for 3 days. Take care of yourself, shutdown your phone and electronics, lay in bed for hours with your eyes closed literally doing nothing until you fall asleep.

I already do that. Awake the whole time, sorta drifting between half asleep and awake. But I never "wake up." I'm just awake the whole time, save for a few minutes here or there maybe. I'd say at the most I've slept 30 minutes or an hour each night. Not long enough to get any kind of rest. I see the clock hit every hour, trying desperately to sleep. Shutting off everything, to no avail

Don't get me wrong I appreciate the suggestions though

when my son was just born and we didn't sleep, once i woke up from like a 2 hour sleep after nights of like, 2-3 hours of sleep and started hallucinating. my wife gave me my son and i held him not knowing what this thing was i was holding, or what i was supposed to do with it. i thought maybe it could be a car battery and was like why did you give me this? where's the car

my wife eventually woke me out of my stupor and i was like holy shit what the fuck just happened.

Mine is seeing shadows sometimes out of the peripheral. Nothing crazy. Not like doing acid

Usually if I can't sleep, just laying there with my eyes closed helps somehow. Even if my brain is microsleeping or whatever, at least it's getting something rather than nothing. I don't have it as bad as you though.

This started (ehh well got this bad) while I was in the best shape of my life. Worked out six days a week. Cardio and weights, 2500 calories a day with one cheat day

It actually started after I got the UTI that fucked my balls for life

The opioids came like 2 years later so it ain't all that either

A metric fuckton. Actually, after taking a large beginning dose, all Id need is like 15-20mg every 6-10 hours to keep going for days. One time I clocked 100 hours in Dark Souls 2 over the course of 5 days. With 5 hours of sleep somewhere in there. I can't overstate how terrible the lows got tho. Opened my mind to new lows that could be triggered from then on by just understanding they're possible. Like panic attacks. Once you have one, it pretty much becomes a PTSD thing that can lead to others down the line. Because you now know just how much control your brain can take into it's own hands without your consent.
