I don't hate the concept.

It could have been used, or could be seen as even, as a storytelling device to demonstrate that even something as blatantly obvious as that gets overlooked and ignored by the Empire, even in the heart of one of the purportedly most secure and secret facilities in the galaxy, due to the sheer complacency of the Empire at the height of its power. Which would allow stuff like walking away with a child in a trench coat to happen. A demonstration of the sheer complacency and ineptitude that infected the Empire and ultimately led to its downfall.

But the rest of the shows execution leads me to believe that that is too high level of a concept for them to have thought of.

But the entirety of Episode 4 deserves to be forgotten for the most part so, RIP Wade.
