Had it in a dresser drawer. It was at 98 battery, and when I took it out it was warm and at 42 battery percentage which is unusual. I just got this phone, it was $450. I had it in the dresser so the cat wouldn't knock it over. Wont be making that mistake again. My concern is if there is any irreparable damage as that's a lot of hours. Phone seems to be functioning fine.

Thank you.

If its a one-off I would assume it would be fine. Plus I think most phones automatically turn off if they get too hot.

If it drained that much battery and was overheating, you probably had a process that got stuck. A reboot will usually fix the issue. Some phones have an option to show you what applications are using the most power. The Alexa app is particularly bad about this.

I recommend rebooting at least once a week. Some phones have an option to reboot automatically, either on a schedule or "as needed".
