as someone who believes that Bloodborne is a GOAT game, I'd definitely be into it being able to perform at 60 FPS, but unfortunately, idk if we'll ever officially be able to have that.

They didn't think about it, they just tried to emulate what they thought the first game was without thinking too hard about it, and the result is inferior.
It's not even that. iirc the original director of the game had all these grand ideas for the game with no way to actually execute them, and eventually they had to take the project from him and handed it off to someone else. By that point in development a lot of areas were already made, so they had to cobble things together the best way they could to get it out the door. Thus weird connections like earthen peak -> iron keep

The thing that really gets me is that Dark Souls 1 and 2 both had chances to fix their worst most rushed areas, and just ended up getting lazy remasters/updates

30fps isn't even the problem. It's the horrible frame pacing.

And it's still fine. Been gaming for thirty years, dealt with the frames on the N64 and the 60+ on PC.
Youre not understanding what Im saying.

I didnt say that playing at 30 FPS was bad. Hell Mario 64 runs at 30.

Im saying that there is a noticeable difference when you drop from 60 or higher to 30 not just visually, but your inputs are affected as well.

This is why I never play in graphics mode.

Another thing is that there's a direct point of comparison, Dark Souls 3 is the same engine but plays at 60. These games should feel pretty similar, instead they don't due to frame rate.

It's easier to tolerate old games when they have nothing in common with modern games. But these were 2015 and 2016 releases.

The human eye can only see the difference between 60 and 30 FPS in lab settings

You know how some adults are 7 tall and others are barely 4, while most people fall within that wide range?

Yeeeaah.

They dont play the same because of entirely different mechanics.

Literally nothing to do with frame rates

As someone who loves bloodborne.

Fuck no this is a stupid take. The FPS and the fact you cant directly travel through lanterns drives me crazy

Did we play the same game? Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne really do feel incredibly similar because they're using the same engine and share a lot of attack animations. You play Bloodborne differently because of the mechanics, but with both at 30 fps the actual movement and feel of the combat are very similar.

I have the platinum for bloodborne (and all trophies for the dlc), almost have the platinum for DkS3 (need the ring trophy. Aids to get), and Platinum for Elden Ring.

I can not stand the gameplay of Sekiro. It's simply not for me.
Elden Ring is absolutely phenomenal and deserved GotY.
DkS3 plays amazingly, build variety is huge, and each area and boss feels amazing.

Bloodborne is simply my favorite. The setting, the trick weapons, the bosses, the pace of combat, healing through damage, I even like the pistols and the way they affect your build.
100% with you, my dude.

Since we're all sucking off Bloodborne, I gotta say being able to parry a heal and get a visceral off of it is so amazing for PvP

If you let someone roll away from you for even a second in Ds3 or Elden Ring they'll sip that estus and be back at full health

The first time I backed off in Bloodborne and got my ass parried for trying to heal my jaw was on the floor, it's so cool
