What are the differences if I am getting it for my daughter and wife to play Animal Crossing on?

If I get one a Lite and one a normal switch, will they still be able to play together?

I got a Lite because I didn't care about the console mode but kinda regret it because the screen is a lot smaller and you can't change the controller part out of the sticks start to drift

For a family, get the standard Switches all day.

Get regular Switch for full game compatibility and Joy Con replacements when the sticks are drifting. My youngest nephew got a Lite and my sister can't find the receipts to get it replaced through the store, other nephews already got new Joy Cons, and so have I.

I would definitely say to get the regular one. While they can still play together if you get the regular and lite, and the lite isn't the best. Obviously, the lite can hook up to the tv, but I also don't know about it's usage in that mode where you take the controllers off and use the kickstand, since the controllers don't come off. Also, since the controllers don't come off, if you get the stick drift, you can't get them replace. And Nintendo replaces them for free, IIRC... And I believe it smaller, as well... Basically, the lite kind of sucks in most cases, if not all...

It advertised the lower price as a reason down here. Not worth the flaws though. My first Switch Joy Cons had unplayable drift in 11 weeks, as in stuck looking at the floor and spinning in circles. I had decade old controllers with much less drift than those Joy Cons. Getting that on a Lite would be unbearable.

The switch lite has no hdmi out, it has the same joycon drift as the other one except you're stuck using it, it's basically worse in every way.

The switch lite might actually be the worst designed console Nintendo has ever made, and that's crazy because they just made the switch. I think they design these things for people who take public transport, and if you are in the US you probably don't use that.

I cant imagine getting a Lite unless its absolutely all that you can afford (but even then, Id just wait and save up for a regular one).

But, in fairness, Im not much of a handheld gamer. Id rather kick back in a comfy chair and game on a big TV then sit there hunching over, craning my neck down over a handheld.

Umm, I think you mean the Steam Deck. It's the Switch Pro.

How about the OLED model? Is it worth paying $50 more to get it?

I ended up getting TWO regular Switches and TWO copies of Animal Crossing. My daughter and my wife will be very happy.

Good job! Definitely better than switch lite

The Lite is a gimped Switch. There is no reason to buy one.

You are buying an objectively inferior product. The illusion of saving money on it isn't worth the mountain of features you lose.
