This isn't a big deal really but every now and then when my washer hits the old spin cycle all hell breaks looks and it goes completely ape shit. SLAM SLAM SLAM SLAM SLAM and I gotta run in in there and shut it off.

It's not a big deal because i'm getting a new washer drier anyway but i'm the kinda rat bastard that likes to take shit apart and fuck with it. Is it an easy fix? I guess I can youtube it and I will but if any of you have worked on one how did your experience go?

It's easy, but might take some time to do. You have to turn the feet so that the machine is properly balanced. I've found that the balance required when it's still is different than when it's running.

Turning the feet on each corner a certain way raises or lowers that particular corner.

That's exactly what I figured it was. I just gotta do it.

This. If it's not happening every time, that sounds more like you have too much laundry on one side and then spinning the lopsided weight makes it jump around.

Consult the Campbell Diagram.

I have no idea if it's still applicable. But...to balance a washer (empty) you just used to have to tip it backwards. The back end stays on the ground, and you pick the front end up a few inches, and then drop it. It should balance itself.

Also check the suspension. You could have bad springs / suspension rods.
