Instead income inequality has been shown to be the major player when you adjust for current events. The former has mostly been a flimsy attempt by conservatives to decry anything but trickle-down economics and largely has no basis in reality. --- "A shouted order to do something of dubious morality with an unpredictable outcome? I only make about $1,500 a month, and the lowest rent I can find is around $1,200, which would give me about $300 a month for bills and food. And I work for a school, I'm the lead. I get paid about the same as foot food workers, and do more work than the fast food managers, which I assume get paid more than me. I really like me job, though. Just sucks. With that being said, I'll absolutely agree that "minimum wage increases won't fix the problem and may even make it worse, so let's just do nothing instead" isn't the right approach either.
