Went to uni, got a CS degree. Shotgunned resume everywhere, got a job.

Haven't done it but it sounds terrible if it was the primary thing people work on. But to each their own.

No, they keep hiring more people. Team I am on is working on a high priority project for the company so they keep adding people to the team from other teams too.

Pretty much what I've been using for these past years. It's cool.

Not really. I started school as a bio major and changed mid way because I made a program to get the best combination of equipment skill upgrades for Tales of Zestiria. I thought programming is cool and made the switch.

Well that's good. I like working on more important projects. Makes me feel a bit more valuable, and they're less likely to lay you off.

I don't really want to drop the actual number, but I'm doing above average in Canada for my years of experience, which is nothing in comparison to what developers make in America.

Any thoughts on Java 19's introduction of virtual threads? Also, what are your thoughts on GraalVM?

No thoughts tbh, but I'll read more about it. Highest I've ever worked with was with Java 11. Everything else in Java 8. Never heard of GraalVM. After a quick Google search, it sounds interesting.

Not like the end of support stopped anything lol.

Probably still code, or go into the more architectural route. Don't care much for managing people but that might be inevitable.

Most stress usually comes with some assigning me a critical item that I know absolutely nothing about with an extremely short deadline. My older job had a lot of that. Nowadays there not really much I'm stressed about. Sometimes it's frustration for trying to figure something out.

Learning new languages is extremely easy. Object-oriented languages like Java, Python, C#, C++, etc. share very similar concepts. The focus in school should be more behind the design practices of these languages. Once you learn one, you can easily learn the others.

I'll just say I'm making above average for my position in Canada. My next goal is moving to America to make more.

They're cool. I'm working with a friend from a previous job, and everyone is super nice.

It depends on the company. For the smaller companies, some parts of sourced, mostly to India. For the more larger companies, they're all in the house.

Probably Sprite and hot chocolate. But nothing beats an ice cold glass of water.
