Company was like ok this trial is going to result in almost everyone that was part of it dying. How do we let them know? Then the rest of it that I remember was them brainstorming ideas about throwing the participants a huge party of drinking and craziness as like a one last hurrah. I worked for a medical silicone device manufacturer that outsourced its janitorial as a cost savings measure... They were supposed to be audited daily, which was supposed to happen until they got 7 perfects scores in a row. Then twice a week until they had 4 in a row perfect. Then weekly until they got 4, then monthly from then on out... In like 8 months, they never once passed a cleanliness audit... My company gave up and went to the monthly schedule instead... The very first audit after that, they found mold in multiple places in the clean room... Things were packaged in the clean room and shipped directly to hospitals... It was only like a year later they'd lost so much in sales that they burned through their entire cash reserves in 2 months, at which point they laid off like 25% of the company, looking ONLY at salaries. People with 30+ years with the company laid off without notice. Oh, it was privately owned, and after the massive lay offs, they said they absolutely weren't going to sell the company.
