I was told I would receive the final word today.

But l, they just sent an email saying they would like to talk to me tomorrow.

Any recruiters on CE? Is this a good or bad sign?

I, personally, think the job is essentially mine at this point.

Moar context:

The job is about 45 minutes away from where I live.

Maybe the call is for the person who didn't get the job :(

No one calls you when you don't get the job.

At best, they send you and email saying they're not interested. This has only happened to me once though, they usually just ghost you.

The job would essentially be what I do now, but with a longer commute. Going over invoices, data entry, inventory control, and the like.

I interviewed people for a job recently and called the ones who didn't get it to let them know (as well the one who did). Hopefully this is good news, but I wouldn't take it as a given that you wouldn't get called if you didn't get the job.

Back to your original question though, I don't think their email is necessarily good or bad news, but I'd lean towards good. Either way though, you can't do anything about it, so just be cautiously optimistic. Good luck!

The call is at 9am. Really hoping I got it. A no would really put a damper on the rest of the day.

One thing. I was told the pay would be 40k CAD to start. But the job offer tended listed a 37,500/yr starting pay.

Should I ask about this?

Context:

I am supposed to make 17/hr at my current job. But, I rarely get more than 25 hours a week.

This other job, at 40k/year, would land me right around 20.83/hour.

The commute is longer, and would cost around 300 dollars a month in gas. Long term effect on vehicle driving long distances.

When I said double my pay, I meant the pay I am getting working 25 hours a week.

Have you received a written offer yet that shows 37.5k instead of 40k? If so then it doesnt hurt to mention you were told 40k and inquire about it.
