Not with the same dishes, but I made a lot of pancakes, unaware that my boyfriend at the time was indeed up early and made himself a big subway before early shopping, as it was my day off and he didn't want to wake me up. He was kind of miffed, and genuinely because he did want to eat but simply couldn't, so I simply told him even if he ate a little bit it would be enough. He smiled and obliged me and actually ate a lot more than I expected. Moral of the story is: A little bit of compromise made us both happy in the end.
