Ignoring the fact that it was canceled before the final season this just seems in line with that new CEO's goal of making HBO all about movies and moving all of the streaming TV shows to another platform.

I won't be shocked if Westworld is announced to be streaming on Discovery Plus in the next few months.

You know what, I probably should have read the article all the way through first. The very last paragraph offers a pretty clear cut reason as to why this is happening:
The removal of shows from HBO Max means WB Discovery is able to save money in residuals paid to cast and crews of productions, on top of the money saved by not continuing with the shows at all.

The speculation I've been hearing is that WBD wants to get into FAST streaming, which is shit like Pluto (Paramount), Tubi (Fox), Freevee (Amazon), etc.

And that these two shows would be thrown on there. Either that, or licensed to another streaming service.
