yeah, no to both questions if that wasn't clear. the new pokemon games are absurdly easy and streamlined, so i'd go with an older one if you actually want to go on an adventure with actual locations and battling and story progression and so on. --- The stone that fell is still falling, so let that stone be a wondrous thing ...
