I watched the first season of that show long before GoT came out and was thus absolutely baffled when people called GoT pornographic. Doing a rewatch of season 1 now and this fucking scene. S1 Spoilers It encapsulates grief so perfectly. The culmination of despair, disbelief and anger just leads to seeing a completely broken Spartacus. It's one of the most depressing and haunting scenes I've seen in television.
