Hey guys, long time lurker who never really posts but I'm going through some deep shit now. I know you guys don't know me at all but I could really use some encouragement as I'm going through some things. Just don't really have anywhere else to turn for support. Also very drunk right now for whatever that's worth.

I just want to tell you good luck and we're all counting on you.

I suppose I should elaborate. I foolishly had a DWI about 6 years ago. I completed my probation but it was private and not state run. Anyway according to the court I didn't complete anything and now have a warrant for my arrest that I just learned about from a cop buddy of mine. I just don't know what to do, I realize I made mistakes but I paid my debt to society and never hurt anyone. I just don't know what to do and would appreciate some guidance if anyone has any suggestions.

I already have a lawyer, unfortunately it's not gonna help as I have no proof of my completed probation. I recognize my mistake and take full ownership of it. And paid the price for it. But it doesn't matter as it's not recognized by the courts so I'm kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place

Don't know what the terrorism message was that didn't make any sense, as said I was as drunk asf. Anyways, would still appreciate some feedback, especially from @darkroast. Know I don't know you but I've always thought you made great posts and have always appreciated your messages

You need the private probation place to make a summary thing of their time working with you. Have that submitted to law enforcement.

Why did you do private probation in the first place? Is that a common thing. I don't know a lot about the process because I've never known anyone that had to do it

Anyways in my county probation is contracted out to a private company unless convicted of a felony. Not sure why or how common it is. The problem is they have no records of what I completed, and I have no paperwork as this was about 6 years ago now. So I'm kinda fucked as it basically looks like I didn't complete anything I was supposed to and I have no way of proving anything to the contrary. Again I appreciate you all listening. I'm not really a reach out for help kinda guy but I was inspired by @darkroast. Getting things off her chest seems to be really helpful for her so I thought what the hell? Can't hurt anyway

Absolutely, it helped me a lot. It's a really rough time right now for everyone, but especially people with mental illness and depression. Just remember that you have friends you can go to and talk to, even if it's just online. Never keep it in if it becomes dangerous to your health. I haven't been in a good way lately, but people here have kept me from doing some very stupid things, and I'm grateful for it.

I'm not the best person to ask for legal advice though, I don't really have any understanding of it. But I can say, you make much better decisions when you are clear and rational. So please take care of yourself.

Thank you Amber that means a lot. I hate to unload on you when you're going through so much yourself, I just feel like I'm near a breaking point and I don't know how to talk to anybody about it IRL. I actually took of this whole week from work but all I've done is just get incredibly drunk the entire time. Which isn't good for my mental health obviously. I just break down crying constantly. Obviously we have vastly different situations, but like I said I've been on this board for over 20 years, keeping up with things, just never posted until now. Just thought in some way you could possibly relate, I dunno. I just don't know what to do anymore

True totally not my fault, yet nothing I can do to prove anything otherwise. My probation officer doesn't even work their anymore so there is no one there who knows me. Even the manager at the salvation army where I did my community service isn't there so I can't prove I did that either. Talked to a lawyer who basically told me I'm fucked without any paperwork to prove I did everything. So I could be looking at 4 months is jail. In which case I'd lose my job, my apartment, everything. I just don't know what to do anymore

Keep talking about it, it's therapeutic. Even if people don't fully understand your situation, getting it out there and hearing other people's opinions can help you feel better. I don't think many CE posters have been pregnant lesbian males before, but I feel a lot better because you guys are here.

Just dont keep things like this inside or theyll fester over time.

I actually had to deal with something almost exactly like this before tbh, which is why I was in the thread originally.

I just didnt know where you were going with your comments. Luckily for me it was only considered a misdemeanor so potential repercussions were much lower. I also did my classes in a state facility where records should have been available and they (and I) did have records I paid all fees. However SC is shit at pretty much everything. Somehow they failed to file my paperwork so when I was putting my shit back together Georgia had no evidence anything was done.

I had a friend drive me 3 hours to SC and he pretty much just went full Karen on the people there when they tried to spin the same BS of not having any documentation. He started yelling at people until they just agreed and fixed my shit.

I was extremely lucky and would not suggest that method.

However, an extremely forceful lawyer is a very good idea. Especially if you can convince them to show up with you in person. Almost no state employees will be willing to face legal consequences and they have the power to make changes in the system even if they claim they dont.

I know this for a fact.

I would suggest getting a lawyer (or your current one if you believe they are capable and they are willing) and having them show up with you at the DDS or whatever the local department is that covers this in your state and having them harshly deal with whoever handles your case.
