Raiders/Rams zzzz

In other news, Falcons are benching Mariota in favor of the rookie, Desmond Ridder.

I haven't even turned this game on.

Raiders will win, idiots in sports media will overreact and act like they're in the playoff picture.

Then they'll lose 3 of their next 4 en route to being as irrelevant as they started.

That's even less interesting than this game.. Then again, all award shows are tripe to me. I only have it on because of the .0001% chance I get a Steam Deck out of it.

I guess that's better than not having this game at all and only checking the espn page every once in a while?

Oh wow that drive by the Rams was epic.. On gamecenter at least. It ended 4th and 23 at the Raiders 43 after two penalties backed them up, and then a personal foul after the third down play to kill the field goal.

Just like the Saints all they had to do was convert 3rd and less than 1 and they couldn't get it done.

This felt worse than that game the entire way.

Didn't watch any of the game but as soon as I saw the Rams were down by 6 with less than 2 minutes to play and had the ball I put a wager on the Rams to win.

Crazy stat I learned today:

The Lions are favored against the Vikings. Being favored despite such a massive win disparity this late in the season has only happened 9 times in NFL history.

The team in the Lions' position won all 9 of those previous games.

A Lions loss has never felt more certain.

The Lions have to lose because them winning the game actually gives them a chance at making the playoffs.

Every game they have is winnable and I expect them to be favored in every game except for at Jets.

If they go 9-8 they end ahead of the Giants, though I suspect Washington ends at 9-7-1.

There have been 53 teams with 10 wins through 13 weeks.

The Vikings are objectively by multiple metrics the worst in history, and if you included 9-3 teams, would still be second worst.

It's not just the eye test this team fails.

Saquon is in for the Giants in a game they'll get wrecked in a week before the game that decides whether they'll be a playoff team or not

Trubisky threw red zone picks to wide open Ravens on back to back drives. This is a playoff team with Pickett and it's a dreg with Trubisky.

And the Vikings are trying to out-Lion the Lions in the first half.

But then the Lions decided to also Lion at the end of the half, so the score remains 14-7.

In the final minute of Vikings/Lions:

The Vikings fumbled the ball at the 3 (Cook never even had the ball, and Cousins didn't even try to recover it)

The Lions missed a field goal

The Vikings gave up a sack attempting a hail mary

Yeah, I was worried about this game once they said Burks was out.

The Steelers have had 5 consecutive drives into Ravens territory, 3 in the red zone, and have gotten 0 points on these drives.

This is seriously impressive.

One thing I'm noticing is almost every Lions drive starts with 3rd and 10+ being converted. The Vikings seem to be simply incapable of getting the stop.

A dumbass turnover is the one thing that could turn this. The Vikings have never recovered from that awful fumble to end the first half.

The Steelers offense finally got points after blowing it the previous 5 drives, except it was too late to actually matter and they lose by 2.

Ugly way to effectively be eliminated from the playoffs. Huntley basically never had to do anything.

Houston had 2nd and goal at the 1 trying to finish Dallas off and failed. Cowboys are still gonna win.

Well, unless the Lions totally Lion, this is the third consecutive week I'm about to start 0-2 in the only games that actually matter. (If it's not Vikings/Lions or Ravens/Steelers it's essentially irrelevant)

I really want to know what the numbers on this are. Every single Lions drive starts with a 3rd and long being converted before they walk right down the field.

I picked the vikings to not jinx the lions. They are my spirit animal

Jets had a guy wide open on the third down play there for like 30 yards and I don't think White ever saw him.
