Ahhhhh shit yeah! I'm stoked.

I hope it's a new thing. It's stargate. They'll get people to watch it based off brand recognition alone. They don't need to rehash what has already been perfect (Movie, SG1 and Atlantis. The ho-hum Universe deserves to die it's slow death).

Emmerich has been talking about making two sequels to the original movie (but none of the TV shows) for what feels like a decade. (edit: it's actually been close to two decades. lol) i don't expect it'll ever get anywhere.

Brad Wright, the guy behind the TV franchise, just got his pitch for the next series turned down by amazon. TBD if he (or anyone else for that matter) will get another chance, or if Amazon wants to reboot. i know a lot of us have no interest in a reboot, but i don't know if Amazon cares.

i think most fans would be fine with a reboot as long as it was good plenty of reboots have been great and even better than the original

sg1 its self was practically a reboot of the film as its broad strokes sequel to said film

according to r/stargate, GFR is known for massive bullshittery. so, maybe don't hold your breath for this one.

I never watched the TV series (any of them) - were they good? I heard they expanded on the lore in some good ways, like the origins of the Stargates themselves..

sg1 took a little while to find itself, but was pretty solid by the end of the first season. atlantis was strong through the entire run. universe took some chances, which generally didn't land very well, but after a while they found something that worked. too late to save it (or, as it turns out, the franchise), though.

100% worth watching. the bad is never so bad to not be ok to watch once, and the good is very, very good.

its great thoe if you watch it skip emancipation from season 1 its by far the worst episode

I'm optimistic. Always down for some more Stargate.

Universe was pretty bad, but had some cool ideas and definitely deserves a movie to wrap things up one day. So I hope this new project leads to some interest in that eventually.

SG-1 was great outside of the last two seasons, which was just alright. Atlantis was mostly good, if not repetitive. And Universe is bearable if you binge it all with 0 expectations.

As much as I'd love new Stargate, I doubt this is credible.
