Shit, this happened in Ontario? Good way for them to get free booze I guess. Geez. Just to expand on OP here, it's not going into the scammer's account, per se. What the person did was take a barcode from another gift card and paste it over top of one that is far more likely to get purchased. The LCBO is the Liquor Control Board of Ontario - a crown controlled dispensary of liquor. I have friends (who happen to be in Ontario by the way) who purchased psn cards that were already used up with a fake bar code stickered over the new one.
