Obi Wan had a rough life. Dude lost his master, his one true love, his brother and the only family he'd ever known all in just a few years. I think from TPM's ending to ROTS ending is like 13 years. Then he sits on Tatooine get beat up by sand storms for 10 years, has a whole adventure wherein he gets dragged through a wall of fire by his former apprentice.
