Theres been several times in the past few years when i get off work and find my car with a flat tire. As long as there isn't a large gash, I can fill it up with my portable compressor and at least drive it home. Then the next day fill it up again and drive it to the tire shop who end up fixing it for free. Its just so much more convenient than having to change the spare, especially when its pouring outside. I have a digital compressor so I just set the PSI and turn it on and it will fill a few fraction of a PSI above what I set, to account for the air loss when I take it off. And its only like $30 on amazon. The last one I had lasted me 4 years until there was a leak in the hose.
