It's frustrating seeing the few companies that are trying be so underfunded and dying off after underwhelming trial results (RIP Otonomy)

Seems like nobody really gives a shit about hearing loss, or tinnitus, hyperacusis, noxacusis, ETD, meniere's, and tons of other hearing problems

i look forward to big progress in stem cell-based regeneration of hair cells by the 2030s.
one becomes accustomed to poor hearing. once a few aging influencers start dealing with it and receive successful treatment with novel therapies, people will care more
my low frequency hearing has improved considerably for whatever reason recently and just this little change makes life more enjoyable

Even more frustrating is that very few insurance companies cover hearing loss/hearing aids (fortunately Medicare does to some extent for older population)

There is no cure for my deafness (I'm literally brain-damaged)

The deaf community doesn't consider their hearing loss a disability. They will never accept a 'cure' for something they don't consider a problem.
